The innovation was invented by studying in detail an organism selected for its ability to thrive in nutrient deficient environment. Crop Intellect Ltd has identified a molecule through state of the art analytical work performed at University of York which demonstrated crop enhancement abilities to several plant species.
Efficacy tests on lettuce, radish, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes and strawberries provided significant increases in quality characteristics and yield of up to 30% without addition of plant nutrients. It is expected that the plant's nutrient update efficiency will increase when the compound is applied, allowing a reduction in fertilisers and an increase in quality characteristics and yield as seen in preliminary tests. Large scale trials are under way and results will be available to interested parties.
Currently the mode of action is being understood to support leading to the ability of securing the intellectual property of the invention. TSB funding has been received for this project. Please contact us if this is of interest to you for commercialisation.
